The Raiders spent about three to four times to much to acquire Carson Palmer. Their top draft picks are gone along with an undisclosed amount of money. Their Defense was not doing their Job! DAH! The line backing corp seems to be good. Their lineman are definitely not bullies. Maybe Stanford Routte is playing injured- but if not, he should be replaced. They have five of the best receivers in foot ball. Schillins or whatever his name is should be traded he spends more time injured than playing. The new receiver with the long name who was acquired to aid Palmer failed. Can't afford this. The raiders need to go looking for the greatest players who never made the main draft list. They might even consider apologizing to Tom Cable. Put Jackson back as offensive coordinator. Get a new WR coach And a new defensive coordinator.

Nnamdi Asomugha will leave Oakland before the start of the 2011 season. He is the definition of a shut down corner and will want to leave for the big pay day that Al Davis won't pay.

Whoops. Louis Rankin was who I meant as far as a RB getting cut. He's the #4 for the Seahawks and did well for us the past two preseasons.

Haha nice catch on the Tight End section not being there. For some reason it got cut off when I posted and I didn't notice!

Alright I'm almost certain Rock beats out Bennet for a couple reasons. First of all he's younger, albeit 30 vs. 31 years old ain't much but every year after 30 is eternity in the RB world. Secondly he was Campbell's teammate in Washington so there's more comfort there. Third, he has kick return experience which will likely give him the edge considering how bad our return game was last year. Lastly, if you watch that DHB interview from Comcast I linked, I believe the last guy DHB mentions as a team leader in terms of getting people to hang out and bond is "Rock" as in "Rock Cartwright". Yes Bennet brings inside info as he was with the Chargers and yes by all accounts he's looked explosive in practice. However, EVERY RB looks explosive in practice right now because there's no pads or tackling.

As for lineman, if I subtract anyone from my offensive depth chart to give the defense one more slot, Erik Pears or Khalif Barnes will be the one to go. I errored on the side of cation because of how many injuries we had last year, so we'll see if it's necessary to keep Pears/Barnes for depth or not depending on how many roster spots the defense and kickers take up.

Lastly the WRs: I too am not high on JLH. He was explosive in returns in 2008 (I've never thought he was super great as a receiver) but 2009 ruined him. I do think they will keep him one more year though because of the question mark at returner with only rookies and fringe players like Nick Miller or Yamon Figurs fighting for it.

If you think Louis Murphy is getting cut, think again. He will be the number 3 or higher receiver on this team barring injury guaranteed. I do believe they WILL keep 6 recievers because they like their young ones from last year AND Jacoby Ford is all but guranteed a roster spot. If Nick Miller suffers any injury in training camp or preseason expect him to be gone or on the practice squad (if he's eligible). The only reason why Watkins is even in the running to make a roster spot is because he's one of the better special teams players and coaches seem to like his work ethic. Certainly we won't keep both like you said.

I wouldn't be so certain about the 3rd RB slot. Bennett has been getting good reports and a UDFA may pop up or someone like Louis Murphy may get cut and snatched up by us.

You're carrying to many linemen. Based on what happened last season we will have only Morris as depth on the interior. If more than one OG/C goes down then Cable will train up a OT to get in there. I would say dropping Pears and consider that Campbell is likely the depth at OT, due to pedigree, and OG, due to this offseason training. Remember that Walker did well at OG last season and I remember that Barnes was getting Guard reps in recent OTAs.

Also I dont know that we keep 6 WRs. I only say this because if JLH still looks like he is hearing footsteps in pre-season action then is he ruined and needs to be cut. I dont see Miller AND Watkins making the team. Miller needs to show that he can stay healthy and Watkins just isnt that talented.

So...... Is Zach Miller not going to make the team? How about Brandon Myers or Stewart?

FYI, Ted Washington was a beast in his prime. He, like Mike Bush, is also a product of the University of Louisville. Like the Raiders we have had a couple of dry years and some questionable coaching changes. But our current leader,Charlie Strong, a veteran of the Florida program is expected to right the ship. Come on Football season!!
